Another uneventful session today, with light pre-holiday action. We are ending the year with a decent finish, and some of the consolidation over the past three weeks may bode well for the first part of 2006.

Good evening, and have a great New Year!!!

Thursday, December 29, 2005

The grains showed some weakness today, which helped our corn position. We exited Wheat on Tuesday at the close, but today would have provided a better exit point. Sugar, Copper and Gold all looked good from our perspective today. Cotton is starting to look interesting, tracing out a large base over the past 18 months. We may be going long over the first quarter of 2006.

Our TNR model made a little money again today, primarily due to our getting short NQ in the morning and riding it all the way down to the 4:00 close. We were long ES in the morning, and hit our money management stop during the afternoon sell-off, and then went short around 3:00. We finished the day with a total net gain of $141. One item of interest is that we are now trading 3 contracts of ES, up from the 2 we have been trading recently. Position sizing is specified by the model, and this indicates that intraday volatility has been diminishing somewhat.

Good evening, and good luck!

We saw a little activity with System B in the first part of the week, with the metals continuing to rebound from their interim lows made last week. Wheat hit our stop on Tuesday, and we exited the trade on the close at 340 for a net loss of $1300 even. Other than that, there was not a whole lot of action.

Our TNR system, however, was quite active on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday, we made $894 on our NQ trades, and lost $331 on our ES trades, for a total net gain of $563. On Wednesday, things flipped around, with NQ losing $174, and ES making $1260. Total net gain on the day was $1086. The model is calling for a trending day today in both ES and NQ.

Good luck, and have a great day!

Friday, December 23, 2005

Kind of a repeat performance from yesterday, metals were up, grains were down, and Sugar set a new contract high. The equity indexes were basically unchanged. Next week will probably bring more of the same, and we are going to have to wait until Jan 3 to get something going.

Our TNR model was on the wrong side of today's mild move, and we wound up losing $460 on our ES short.

Our next update will not be until Thursday, December 29.

Have a great evening, and a great holiday weekend!

Thursday, December 22, 2005

Things looked a little better from our perspective today, with the metals finding some kind of support and rebounding. Gold finished the day back above $500/oz, which should count for something. The equity indexes also rebounded nicely, and Sugar yet again set a new contract high.

Our biggest worry right now is the grains, which certainly do appear to have formed a bottom over the past month. we are getting close to hitting our stops in both Wheat and Corn, and unless some new weakness enters the market, we may be exiting those trades within the next two weeks or so.

The TNR model was neutral for today, but is indicating a trending day tomorrow for ES.

Good evening, and good luck!

Wednesday, December 21, 2005

Really not much going on in any of the markets except some random noise. The Currencies moved in our favor (Yen down, CAD up), Sugar moved against us, Silver helped, Gold hurt... I don't imagine that things are going to change much between now and the end of the year.

Our TNR trades lost us net -$280 on the day, and TNR is indicating neutral for tomorrow. As you can see from the chart on the right, Our TNR equity isn't doing much right now, and we've been mushing around this +/- $1000 level for a long time... We need a breakout (to the upside)!
